About Us
webAI is pioneering the future of artificial intelligence by establishing the first distributed AI infrastructure dedicated to personalized AI. We recognize the evolving demands of a data-driven society for scalability and flexibility, and we firmly believe that the future of AI lies in distributed processing at the edge, bringing computation closer to the source of data generation. Our mission is to build a future where a company's valuable data and intellectual property remain entirely private, enabling the deployment of large-scale AI models directly on standard consumer hardware without compromising the information embedded within those models. We are developing an end-to-end platform that is secure, scalable, and fully under the control of our users, empowering enterprises with AI that understands their unique business. We are a team driven by truth, ownership, tenacity, and humility, and we seek individuals who resonate with these core values and are passionate about shaping the next generation of AI.
About the Role
As a Senior Product Designer, you'll operate as an architect, shaping product direction, setting the design standard, and driving impact across our flagship application. You'll be a go-to voice on the team: the designer others seek out for perspective, guidance, and creative problem-solving.
Craft is everything on this role. You sweat the small details, the spacing, the motion, the feel of an interaction, because that's where quality lives and where good work separates from great. You pair that obsession with sharp UX judgment, designing experiences that are as intuitive as they are polished.
You'll work fluidly from early-stage concept through final implementation, partnering with engineers, designers, researchers, and product to turn genuinely complex AI concepts into experiences that feel simple, considered, and human. Here, designers own their work end to end, from concept through what ships, supported by modern AI-assisted tools. Your influence will be felt not just in what you design, but in how the team designs, raising the bar through your judgment, your critique, and your ability to bring people along.
The ideal candidate has strong opinions, holds them loosely, and communicates with precision and clarity. They're as comfortable presenting to leadership as they are rolling up their sleeves in a design review. They move through ambiguity without losing momentum, and they make the people around them better.
This role reports into the Director of Design.
Responsibilities
Lead design direction across major product initiatives, from early problem framing through shipping
Serve as a design lead across the full product development cycle, owning product surfaces end to end
Partner with and influence engineering, product, and research beyond your immediate scope
Establish and evolve the design patterns and principles that elevate the team's product work
Bring your designs to life: prototype, validate with users, and ship production-ready work with the support of AI-assisted tools
Lead through critique, giving feedback that sharpens thinking, not just execution, and creating space for others to do their best work
Navigate and resolve complex, ambiguous problems that cross functional boundaries
Bring emerging technology (AI, ML, conversational interfaces) into the work in ways that are genuinely useful, not just novel
Qualifications
7+ years in UX or product design, with a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional craft, attention to detail, and strategic impact
Relentless attention to the details that make an experience feel right: typography, spacing, hierarchy, motion, and interaction feel
Strong UX judgment: flows, states, edge cases, and systems thinking, not just visuals
A track record of leading complex, cross-functional projects from concept to launch with minimal oversight
Comfortable bringing your own designs to life with AI-assisted tools, or eager to learn. We're an AI-native team where designers own their work through to what ships
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, able to articulate design rationale to any audience, from engineers to executives
Demonstrated ability to influence product direction beyond your direct work
Updated portfolio of design work available for review (please include on resume)
Preferred Skills
Deep familiarity with emerging technologies: AI/ML, LLMs, conversational UI
Experience designing for technical, developer-facing, or data-rich products
Experience mentoring designers and contributing to team craft standards
Expertise in prototyping, motion, or data visualization
Proficiency in Figma
