About The Role
Seegrid is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team to participate in development, evaluation, and enhancement of manufacturing methods. Utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling and equipment capabilities, assembly methods, continuous improvement, and quality control standards, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers continue to receive the high quality product and solutions Seegrid is known for.
Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate with peers and management to develop tools, procedures, and controls to maintain consistent high-quality manufacturing output.
- Improve or define manufacturing processes by designing layouts for equipment and workspaces, planning workforce utilization, and workflow for maximum quality, efficiency, and safety..
- Collaborate with planning and design staff concerning product design, tooling, and testing methods to ensure efficient production methods.
- Work alongside Seegrid Supply Chain/Engineering/Quality/Service to review product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and defect mitigation.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, software, and assembly issues as they arise on the manufacturing line or in quality testing. Develop a deep understanding of our robotic systems and the tools and methods we use to configure and troubleshoot them.
- Create, change, and administer standard operating procedures and work instructions where applicable.
- Participate in the evaluation and disposition of non-conforming materials.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in electrical, industrial, mechanical or manufacturing engineering or a related field and 2-5 years of relevant experience.
- In lieu of a degree, high school diploma or GED and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings, bills of material, test specifications as well as set up and perform testing on mechanical and electrical assemblies is required.
- Experience configuring electromechanical systems, to include loading of software/firmware is highly preferred, experience with robotics systems or industrial automation is a plus
- Familiarity with both Linux and Windows operating systems is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of electronic, electrical and mechanical components, AC/DC systems and functionality such as PCB assemblies, cable harnesses' fabrication and system wiring is highly preferred.
- Strong team player, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems.
- Ability to follow policies and procedures.
- Ability to read, write and interpret information.
- Ability to sit/walk/stand for up to 8 hours per day.
- Must possess visual acuity, i.e., close, distance, and color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Python, C++, BasicLIKE, MatLab languages and related file types is preferred.
- Familiarity with applicable standards such as IPC, ANSI, etc. is preferred.
- Experience with continuous improvement and lean concepts is preferred.
