Relay is transforming the physical world into a searchable, actionable data asset. We’ve moved beyond "Big Radio's" analog past to build the Relay SOAR™ Platform, which treats voice and movement as the new keyboards of the enterprise. By capturing the "Human Signal," we enable frontline teams in hospitality, manufacturing, and healthcare to move from reactive chaos to proactive control.

Ranked among the fastest-growing tech companies in North America, we are looking for the next generation of "Relayers" to help us digitize the final frontier of the workforce.

Join us in Raleigh and let’s get LIT.

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Data Analyst Intern to join our Analytics team. Our mission is to collect raw data from a growing number of sources and deliver timely, impactful insights to every department—from Engineering and Operations to Sales and Marketing.

This internship is designed for active contribution. You will tackle real business challenges and work on high-impact projects alongside our Analytics team. You will gain hands-on experience leveraging a SQL-based data warehouse, contributing to high-throughput data pipelines, and developing visualizations that directly influence business decisions.

High-performing interns may be considered for full-time roles after graduation, depending on business needs.

What You Will Do

  • Analyze: Use SQL to extract, clean, and reshape raw data to answer diverse questions from stakeholders.
  • Build & Maintain: Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence dashboards and reports.
  • Collaborate: Work with stakeholders across the organization to understand their data challenges and negotiate effective solutions.
  • Develop: Participate in the team’s software development process, gaining real-world Agile experience and getting code into production.
  • Document: Write clear documentation for new and existing events, tables, and code to ensure knowledge sharing.

Required Skills

  • SQL Proficiency: Strong ability to use SQL for data extraction, cleaning, and reshaping.
  • Data Visualization: Strong understanding of visualization techniques to make complex data easily understood.
  • Communication: Excellent ability to communicate clear, concise insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Technical Curiosity: A creative drive to ask questions and deeply understand the data and the business needs behind it.
  • Scripting: Proficiency in Python or R for data cleaning and scripting.
  • Pragmatism: Good time management skills; you understand that a fast, maintainable solution is often better than a slow, complex one.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with a dashboarding tool (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Metabase, etc.).
  • Exposure to general programming and software engineering principles (e.g., version control, modular code, testing).
  • Familiarity with Linux, command line interfaces (CLI), and cloud computing services.
  • Previous experience with SaaS company operations or metrics.

Education & Eligibility

  • Actively enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or similar).
  • Target Graduation Date: May 2026, December 2026, or Spring 2027.
  • Must be local to the Raleigh, NC area and able to work onsite at our headquarters part of the time.

Why Start Your Career at Relay?

  • Work at the Edge of Innovation: We just secured our 100th patent. You’ll work with technologies spanning AI-driven noise suppression, real-time language translation, and advanced IoT connectivity.
