We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Senior IT Specialist to join our IT team. In this role, you will be the primary administrator for our Okta Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform, ensuring our team members have secure and seamless access to the tools they need. Beyond Okta, you will be a key player in our general IT operations, providing hands-on support for a variety of hardware and ever expanding SaaS application catalog which includes applications such as Google Workspace, Notion, Zoho and Slack.

The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in IT systems, a proven track record with Okta administration, and an unwavering commitment to providing an exceptional user experience. This is not a senior-level position, but it requires a proactive problem-solver with an insatiable appetite to learn new technologies and processes.

This is an full time, in office role based in our Raleigh, NC headquarters, requiring 5 days per week in the company office (Monday - Friday).

What you will do:

  • Okta Administration:
    • Manage the end-to-end user lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and role changes within Okta.
    • Configure and maintain application integrations using SAML, SCIM, and OIDC protocols.
    • Administer Universal Directory, group policies, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) policies to enhance security.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve Okta-related issues, such as login failures, application access problems, and MFA challenges.
    • Maintain clear and concise documentation for Okta processes and configurations.
  • General IT & End-User Support:
    • Serve as a point of contact for IT support requests, providing timely, empathetic, and clear communication to end-users.
    • Own the end-to-end IT onboarding and offboarding processes, including hardware provisioning, user account creation, system access management, and in person onboarding to ensure a seamless new hire experience.
    • Diagnose and resolve hardware issues for company-provided laptops (Mac/PC), peripherals, and other office equipment.
    • Provide administration and support for our suite of SaaS applications (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Zoom, Notion and many others).
    • Assist in the deployment and management of employee workstations and software.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Proactively identify opportunities to automate processes and improve the end-user experience.
    • Stay current with emerging Okta features, security best practices, and IT industry trends.
    • Collaborate with the broader IT team on projects and initiatives.

What you will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT Systems Administrator or IT Support role.
  • Demonstrable, hands-on experience managing an Okta environment, including application integrations and user lifecycle management.
  • Strong understanding of identity management concepts, including Single Sign-On (SSO), SAML, SCIM, OIDC, and MFA.
  • Proficiency in supporting both Windows and macOS environments.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware (laptops, monitors, printers) and software issues.
  • Familiarity with administering common SaaS platforms like Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or similar.
  • A proven track record of providing outstanding customer service with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for technology and a strong, demonstrated desire to learn and grow professionally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Okta Certified Administrator certification.
  • Experience with basic scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
  • Familiarity with endpoint management solutions (e.g., Jumpcloud, Palo Alto Cortex).
  • Experience working in a cloud directory services environment.
