Job Description
We are rapidly expanding and looking for a Contract Regional Supply Chain Specialist to manage relationships with 3PLs, oversee onsite QC, warehouse, and distribution operations, and ensure accurate inventory monitoring. As Supply Chain Specialist, your work will directly impact the fresh produce supply chain by optimizing warehousing for the first ever B2B marketplace for fresh produce.
This role will require an acumen for logistics and operations, experience managing teams and driving efficiencies, a willingness to take hands-on approach, strong cross-functional and communication skills, and strong problem-solving background. A successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in the fresh produce supply chain or in a similar industry as the applicant will have direct engagement with various participants in the supply chain network (growers, 3PL, freight providers, retailers, custom brokers, fresh produce buyers).
The Regional Supply Chain Specialist will play a key role in our accelerated growth and report to the Director of Supply Chain.
Responsibilities include:
Manage 3PL relationships with local and regional warehouses
- Be ProducePay’s primary point of contact with warehouses and 3PLs in our network
- Identify, propose and vet 3PL relationships for ProducePay
- Supervise warehousing conditions according to specifications, agreements, and applicable safety regulations
- Report performance and evaluations of local and regional warehouses in our network
- Troubleshoot any logistics issues in the supply chain
Supervise onsite QC
- Supervise quality check processes and teams at warehouses
- Ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards as required by USDA and the buyer
- Drive efficiencies in QC operations and reporting
Communicate and coordinate inbound and outbound delivery of fresh produce
- Communicate continuously with cross-functional teams about the status of inbound/outbound shipments
- Coordinate with customers (buyers, sellers), customs brokers, 3PL vendors, and freight providers to ensure smooth in and out delivery
Ensure accurate monitoring and tracking of active inventory
- Control inventory levels by conducting analytics/physical counts and & reconciling with data storage systems
- Contribute to the selection/development of inventory-tracking software
- Articulate metrics / KPIs to provide accurate data and insights on inventory
- Monitor invoicing and payment processing
Oversee sorting and packing operations
- Supervise warehouse sorting and packing operations
- Develop ProducePay procedures and protocols relating to packaging needs
- Evaluate capabilities of 3PLs and ability to serve packaging needs
- Collect customer requirements, and ensure consistent delivery to specifications
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience managing fresh produce warehouses for 3PL providers
- Customer minded and accustomed to providing high level of customer service
- Comfortable troubleshooting and solving new problems
- Demonstrated experience implemented QC and safety controls
- Experience managing distributed teams
- Detail oriented
- High-energy manager with strong work ethic and willingness to work cross-functionally
- Accustomed to transparent and frequent communication
- Ability for up to 50% seasonal travel
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish
