Location: While this position is posted in a specific location, all of Oyster’s positions are fully remote, and you can work from home. Forever. To create the best experience for our new hire, this role requires that you be based within -8 / +3 UTC.

As our Internal Communications Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in keeping our diverse, distributed workforce connected, engaged, and aligned with our mission. You’ll be a champion for our employee experience who cares deeply about inclusivity and diversity. This position requires a strategic thinker who can navigate the complexities of global communication in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a consistent, clear voice for our organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Define and solidify Oyster’s employee brand voice with an awareness of different employee personas and experiences
- Develop and execute comprehensive internal communication strategy that align with Oyster's goals and support our globally distributed workforce
- Craft important messaging for senior leadership, including talk tracks and presentations
- Ensure key messages are distributed effectively and adapted for a mix of mediums such as Slack, email, Notion, Loom, etc.
- Provide communication support and coaching to executives and managers
- Prepare and execute communication plans for organizational changes and crisis management
- Collaborate within the People team and across other departments to support company-wide initiatives and maintain cultural cohesion
- Manage and optimize internal communication channels, including newsletters, Slack, virtual town hall meetings and our monthly company-wide all-hands
- Enhance employee engagement through targeted initiatives and regular feedback collection
- Conduct surveys and feedback sessions to gauge employee satisfaction and identify areas for improvement
- Own company All Hands production, creating the storyline for each meeting and ensuring it’s an engaging and informative experience for everyone
Core Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in internal communications, with experience operating in a globally distributed environment
- Proven track record in developing and implementing successful communication strategies
- Enhanced understanding of cross-cultural internal communications and the ability to create and adapt messaging for a multitude of audiences with varying lenses
- Experience drafting communications on behalf of an executive office.
- Advanced written and verbal English language skills with the ability to articulate thoughts and express ideas to multiple audiences, including executive teams. This includes an excellent grasp of composition and correct spelling and grammatical errors with ease.
- Excellent experience creating asynchronous, company-wide communication via tools such as Loom, Notion, and Slack.
- Proven ability to create and edit both comprehensive and accurate content across a variety of mediums, including high-level and detailed documentation used to communicate programs, processes, and guides.
- Experience in change management and crisis communication
- Well-developed cultural awareness and ability to communicate successfully across diverse groups
- Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms
