Job Summary:
As a Contract Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in our financial team, assisting in year-end activities, monthly close processes, and various accounting-related functions. Your meticulous attention to detail and deep understanding of accounting principles will contribute to the success of our company. This position is remote, allowing you the flexibility to work from your preferred location.
Key Responsibilities:
Month-End and Year-End Close: Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established deadlines.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including posting journal entries and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, verifying invoices, processing payments, and managing collections.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
Audit Preparation: Prepare and support the external audit process, providing necessary documentation and answering auditor inquiries.
Compliance and Taxation: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial requirements.
Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance, identifying areas for improvement.
Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments within the company to obtain necessary financial data and facilitate decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role, ideally within a small to medium-sized company.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
