About the Role:
Motive is seeking an experienced Senior AR Data Specialist to join its world-class Billing/Collections team and help us scale for the future, in a fast-paced environment that’s growing rapidly. As a Senior AR Data Specialist, you will support the processing and reporting of our global financial billing/collections results.
What You’ll Do:
- Enable timely financial close and collections analysis through data analytics and visualization
- Build reporting and dashboards using Excel SQL, Tableau, Redash, Salesforce, Zuora and Genesys
- Create reports, models, and ad hoc analysis to help management evaluate the impact of decisions on short and long term plans
- Build out and assist with delivering monthly & quarterly management reporting, including executive level forecast vs. actuals and dashboards
- Assist with the preparation of external materials, including quarterly financials, key metric datasets, and other ad hoc requests
- Conduct monthly forecast vs actual variance analyses to share results and actionable insights with business partners
- Wrangle large, highly complex datasets into actionable insights and become the data expert for Billing/Collections
- Support the broader Billing/Collections team with monthly, quarterly, and annual planning
- Perform analysis, identify trends, conduct research, and build visualizations to deliver objective, critical insights that fulfill billing and collections stakeholders’ needs
- Implement anomaly detection of automated billing and payments activity to identify potential misstatements in financial results
- Drive cross-functional projects, primarily partnering with Revenue and Accounting to identify opportunities to help our stakeholders operate more efficiently and effectively
- Work independently to investigate the root cause of system breakages and drive both short/long term resolution
- Work cross-functionally to drive process improvement and automation
- Create, maintain and review complex financial models in excel/gsheets
- Develop testing strategies and build population to satisfy analytic-based audit needs
- Conduct A/B testing and perform insights analysis
- Develop competitive benchmarking analysis and other key financial and operating metrics
What We’re Looking For:
- 2-4+ years of relevant finance and/or industry experience
- Must be detail-oriented to ensure accuracy and quality of output
- Independent self-starter and adaptable in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and proven experience in cultivating collaborative working relationships with teams across an organization
- Strong knowledge of Excel and experience working with large amounts of data, often coming from multiple sources
- Demonstrated experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders
- Self-motivated individual with a demonstrated history of taking on various types of challenging projects and producing results, with excellent attention to detail
- Solution-oriented mindset with enthusiasm for establishing best practices, and challenging existing processes to identify improvement opportunities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey financial concepts to both financial and non-financial audiences
- Intermediate or advanced SQL proficiency
- Excellent modeling and forecasting skills
- Expert in Excel and Google Sheets
- Comprehensive knowledge of Zuora is a plus
- Expertise in Salesforce is a plus
- Bachelor's (BA/BS) degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA is a plus)
