Team Overview
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Geometric Perception team in Munich, Germany. Our mission is to make autonomous transportation safe and accessible. With lives at stake, 99% reliability is not enough—our goal is to achieve uncompromising safety through innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement robust, production-grade geometric perception algorithms for advanced object recognition and environmental modeling.
- Collaborate with the LiDAR engineering team to define sensor performance requirements and establish comprehensive metrics for both sensor and algorithmic evaluation.
- Conduct in-depth analysis and optimization of the software stack to enhance computational efficiency and overall system performance.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of software tooling infrastructure, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of software quality and reliability.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of industry experience.
- Proficiency in modern C++ and unit testing.
- Hands-on experience in ADAS or autonomous driving algorithm development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in ADAS/AD algorithms such as ground plane estimation, occupancy grid mapping, object/lane detection and tracking.
- Experience with performance optimization on CPU and GPU platforms (e.g., CUDA).
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset suited to dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams across organizational and geographical boundaries.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and frameworks such as SAFe.
- Experience designing and developing software in compliance with automotive standards (e.g., ASPICE, ISO 26262, AUTOSAR, SOTIF).
