We're seeking an experienced Software Quality Manager to lead and scale software quality practices across our robotics platforms. In this role, you will drive quality throughout the entire software lifecycle from development and testing to deployment ensuring our autonomous mobile robots operate reliably and safely in real world warehouse environments.

You will work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to implement scalable quality processes, automated testing frameworks, and data-driven release practices while building a high-performing quality engineering team.

This is an onsite position located at our Wilmington MA headquarters. Only local candidates will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the software quality strategy aligned with product and business goals.

  • Establish quality metrics, KPIs, and dashboards to measure reliability, defect trends, and release readiness.

  • Lead the development of automated test frameworks including unit, integration, regression, and system-level testing.

  • Drive CI/CD quality gates and automated testing pipelines across distributed software teams.

  • Partner with engineering and product teams to ensure testability, reliability, and quality are built into system design and development.

  • Own release quality readiness and deployment validation for major software milestones and production sites.

  • Lead root cause analysis, risk assessment, and corrective action planning to continuously improve software stability and performance.

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing Software QA team while promoting best practices across engineering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in software quality engineering or QA leadership roles.

  • Experience testing complex systems with hardware dependencies (e.g., robotics, autonomous systems, embedded systems, or IoT).

  • Proven experience building automated test frameworks integrated with CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong understanding of Agile development, test automation, version control, and release management.

  • Programming experience in Python, C++, JavaScript, or Java, specifically for test automation.

  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as pytest, Google Test, Playwright, or Selenium.

  • Experience testing mobile applications and distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of performance, reliability, and system-level testing methodologies.

  • Experience using quality metrics and tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or similar platforms.

  • Familiarity with robotics simulation tools (e.g., Gazebo, Webots, Unity, or similar platforms).
  • Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System) and robotics testing practices.

The expected base salary range for this role is $140,000 to $180,000 annually, based on external market data, plus bonus and equity. Actual offers will depend on factors such as the candidate’s experience, education, training, key or critical skills, geographic location, and current market and business conditions
