Impact in this Role

In your role as Regional Logistics Lead you will leverage your leadership, managerial, supply chain, logistics, and trade compliance expertise as well as superb planning and communication skills to oversee the execution of Fictiv’s domestic/international shipping and export compliance out of Mexico.

You’ll manage and lead the regional Logistics team, providing guidance and coaching while setting an example for excellence. You will be accountable for the capabilities, performance, and cost competitiveness of our Mexico Logistics network, which is critical to the success of our customers and Fictiv, while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and minimizing cost overages.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Oversee the Regional Logistics Team and act as the primary point of escalation.
  • Setup the Mexico HUB logistics office and work closely with all functions for entity setup.
  • People management of the Mexico Support Logistics team, including managing time off, performance management, hiring, firing, and other activities.
  • Work directly with cross functional teams to ensure Logistics is working in alignment to progress the goals for the region.
  • Be responsible for all the processes and documentation to ensure following global standards and strategy.
  • Lead working with the transportation vendors regionally, in alignment with global strategy
  • Provide regional process improvement ideas and lead the IT/Platform projects necessary to support Mexico Logistics team
  • Supports the coordination of import/export of Injection Molded and CNC Machined parts shipments from Mexico to our customers in the United states.
  • Build the coordination of domestic shipments for the Mexico HUB.
  • Monitor transit of cargo to ensure delivery and resolve delivery problems as needed.
  • Respond to shipping complaints, customs delays, and damages.
  • Administers import/export record-keeping requirements.
  • Partner with transportation integrators, freight forwarders, and other private companies to ensure efficiency and low cost of shipment deliveries.
  • Partner with Fictiv’s manufacturing partners to ensure on-time shipment and export of our orders to our customers.
  • As necessary, international freight quotes to our Costing & DFM team and other team members in the organization.
  • Responsible for the creation and review of shipping documents and coordinate booking, pickup arrangements, creation of shipping documents and all the operations of handling a shipment with a freight forwarder.
  • Use your experience and establish partnership with Fictiv’s Trade Compliance team to ultimately ensure the Mexico export process complies with international customs regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless and efficient integration of logistics processes with end to end company workflows..
  • Identify opportunities for and implement change to realize cost savings for Fictiv and its customers.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other logistics related tasks as indicated by the GM - Mexico

Desired Traits & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Logistics, Warehousing, Distribution and/or Supply Chain
  • Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Foreign Trade, Customs or related fields
    preferred.
  • Understanding of export practices from Mexico is a must. Understanding of the US import and customs practices is a plus.
  • Excellent understanding of logistics processes, customer service, production
    planning, materials management, RMA processing, quality and regulatory affairs.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning; Transportation Management
    Systems.
  • Experience in vendor oversight and managing external partnerships and relations
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with little supervision.
  • You are meticulous and detail-oriented.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under stress and lead under difficult situations.
