About This Role

Join Crusoe Energy as a Staff Electrical Engineer and lead the transformation of complex customer requirements into production-ready electrical designs, schematics, and detailed wiring diagrams for modular integrated electronics buildings and standalone power distribution equipment.

This pivotal working leadership role involves the creation and release of precise electrical documentation alongside expert technical leadership, mentorship, and strategic guidance throughout the entire product development lifecycle. You will be instrumental in ensuring our designs are functional, reliable, and compliant with all regulatory and commercial codes, driving a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate is a highly analytical, seasoned engineer with expert-level proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN Preferred), a comprehensive understanding of power distribution and industrial automation, and a demonstrated ability to successfully lead engineering teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. What You'll Be Working On

Advanced Electrical Design & Leadership

  • Power & Controls Intensive Projects: Lead and direct the electrical design of modular integrated buildings, low voltage switchboards, medium voltage switchgear, and other critical power distribution equipment.
  • Documentation & Specifications: Oversee the development of comprehensive electrical specification sheets, bills of materials (BOMs), detailed wiring schematics, and other crucial manufacturing documents, setting high standards for accuracy.
  • Resource Management: Oversee the allocation of electrical engineering resources across multiple projects and manage project priorities to ensure successful delivery.

Compliance, Quality & Analysis

  • Code Compliance & Standards: Champion and ensure strict compliance of all product designs with complicated regulatory requirements (NEC/NFPA 70), UL listings (e.g., UL 508A, UL 891, UL 1558), and customer specifications.
  • Design Reviews: Conduct thorough schematic reviews, load calculations, and coordination studies as an integral part of the engineering design release process, serving as a subject matter expert for quality assurance.
  • Cost & Efficiency: Initiate and lead reviews focusing on cost reduction strategies and enhancing overall manufacturing efficiency across multiple product lines.

Collaboration & Innovation

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead strategic collaboration initiatives with Mechanical Engineering, Sales, Project Management, and Manufacturing teams to resolve problems and foster creative, high-value solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify and implement improvements to design procedures, processes, and methodologies, driving innovation and enhancing safety.
  • Mentorship: Provide expert technical guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to electrical design engineers, fostering a high-performing team and nurturing future leaders.

Education & Experience

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
  • Power Systems Experience: Proven 7+ years of experience in advanced electrical design, ideally with engineered-to-order power distribution equipment like modular integrated buildings, switchboards, switchgear, or industrial control panels.
  • Technical Leadership: Experience in a supervisory or management role for at least 2–3 years.

Technical Skills

  • Design Software Proficiency: Expert proficiency with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) and product data management systems.
  • Code Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and UL listings (UL 508A, UL 891), with the ability to interpret and apply them in regulatory environments.
  • Component Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of electrical components commonly used in power distribution and industrial automation systems.

Professional Attributes

  • Strategic Decision-Making: Exceptional analytical ability and strategic decision-making skills to tackle complex, multi-faceted design challenges and provide authoritative technical direction.
  • First Principles Thinking: Proven track record of solving engineering problems utilizing a first principles approach to design and analysis.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of electrical engineers, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  • Safety and Compliance: This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required.

Bonus Points

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with PLC programming or SCADA systems integration.
  • Demonstrated creativity and mature judgment in planning and guiding engineering programs.

Benefits
