We are looking to add a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to the Manufacturing Engineer team at Carbon.

This role is based in our Redwood City, CA office and requires working onsite Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities:

  • Involved in the entire product life-cycle of printer and accessories development programs at Carbon
  • Become the expert on your system’s functional requirements, design and behaviors. Analyze design options, specify system requirements, participate in design reviews, build test systems, create and execute test plans, and troubleshoot issues
  • Augment MES capabilities and features related to system/sub-assembly/component testing, traceability, process management and data analysis
  • Lead requirements development and tracking, system integration, assembly and validation testing for manufacturing releases
  • Collaborate closely with Carbon ME, EE, SW, Optics, Materials and other Systems Engineers through requirements analysis, design, and prototyping with a focus on assembly, integration and testing
  • Create and maintain documentation to enable effective knowledge transfer throughout the company and technician training
  • Lead cross functional efforts to scope, develop, and deploy tools (mechanical and systems level) to assist in the efficient scaling up of manufacturing activities
  • Participate in new process development activities & drive collaboration across cross functional teams (Design, Systems, Production, Quality, Supply Chain)
  • Create and maintain WI’s, SOP’s and other relevant manufacturing documentation cross functional teams (Design, Systems, Production, Quality, Supply Chain)
  • Train technicians and engineers (in-house and at CM sites) in new and existing processes

Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or relevant Engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of work experience in fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated ability resolving production line down issues and non-conformances using standard root cause analysis techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to create technical documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to use statistical tools in data analysis to solve complex problems
  • Experience in a production environment and comfortable working with technicians on the manufacturing floor as well as in the lab
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to ask questions and come up to speed quickly in new areas and projects
  • Self driven engineer with a strong sense of responsibility, accountability and continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with and improving processes related to assemblies containing UV lasers, high-end optics or complex fluid systems
  • Experience developing PCBA functional testers

At Carbon, we look at the person holistically and carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation. The pay range for this position is $115,200 to $172,800. Your actual salary will be based on your experience, work location, certifications and the unique skills you bring to the role. If you are not based in our Redwood City office, the range above will be adjusted for the geographical differential associated with your actual work location.
