We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to join our team, focusing on New Product Development across web, mobile, and data science domains. As a Data Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture of new, data-driven products, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance across multiple platforms. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing data solutions using Amazon Aurora MySQL, Amazon S3, and Amazon Timestream, providing technical leadership and strategic direction for the future of our data-driven products.

What You’ll Do:

  • Architecture Design: Lead the design and architecture of data solutions for new web, mobile, and data science products, ensuring a robust, scalable, and optimized infrastructure.
  • Data Storage & Management: Design and manage relational databases in Aurora MySQL, time series data in Amazon Timestream, and unstructured data storage in Amazon S3.
  • Data Pipeline Development: Architect data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and managing data across multiple data sources, focusing on optimizing for both batch and real-time processing.
  • Product Integration: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate data solutions seamlessly with front-end (web and mobile) applications and back-end analytics platforms.
  • Data Security & Compliance: Establish best practices for data security, encryption, and compliance with relevant regulations and company standards.
  • Data Modeling: Develop and maintain logical and physical data models for various product use cases, optimizing for speed and resource efficiency.
  • Performance Optimization: Implement performance tuning for database queries, storage optimization in S3, and efficient time series data handling in Timestream.
  • Data Governance: Establish data governance policies, ensuring data integrity, availability, and quality across all platforms.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across product, engineering, and data science teams to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related fields, preferably with experience in new product development.
  • Database Systems: Extensive experience with Amazon Aurora MySQL or other MySQL-compatible databases.
  • Cloud Storage: Proficiency in using Amazon S3 for data storage and integration.
  • Time Series Databases: Experience with Amazon Timestream or similar time series databases.
  • Data Modeling: Strong understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling techniques.
  • ETL Processes: Proven experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data workflow orchestration.
  • Scripting Languages: Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages such as Python.
  • APIs and Data Integrations: Experience with RESTful APIs and integrating data across systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) tools beyond Aurora, S3, and Timestream.
  • Experience with data science product requirements, including familiarity with machine learning workflows.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools and practices.
